MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Morehead State women's basketball team will travel to Chicago, Ill. to take on the Chicago State Cougars on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. They will then travel to Oxford, Ohio on Sunday for a 4 p.m. ET bout with the Miami Redhawks.
The Eagles (3-2) are coming off a convincing 117-53 victory over Div. III Mount St. Joseph. Sophomore forward
Eriel McKee collected her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. The Cougars (0-5) fell to No. 19 DePaul 88-42 in their last contest. Senior forward Layne Murphy added her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Redhawks (2-2) recently fell in overtime to Eastern Kentucky, 77-72, allowing the Colonels to come back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter.

OVC HONORS IN BACK-TO-BACK WEEKSFollowing her strong showing against No. 13 Kentucky with 14 points and 8 rebounds, freshman guard
Miranda Crockett recorded her first career triple-double against Georgia State, accumulating 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. As a result she earned OVC Freshman of the Week honors for the second straight week.

BLOCK PARTY AND ALL ARE INVITEDThe Eagles are swatting 7.6 shots per game, which is good for fourth in the country. MSU tied a school record and an OVC record when they rejected 16 shots versus Mount St Jospeh. Seven players recorded at least one block, and four players rejected three shots in the contest.

CLEAN UP DUTYThe Eagles rank 10th in the country with 20 offensive rebounds per contest.
Crockett currently leads the team in offensive rebounds with 22 on the season, good for 4.4 per game.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKIn the first five games of the season, MSU broke the record for largest margin of victory in team history, defeating Mount St. Joseph by 64 points, they broke the record for the most points scored in a game with 121 points vs. Kentucky Christian, and for the first time in program history they scored over 100 points in back-to-back games against Marshall and Kentucky Christian.

PREVIEWING MATCHUP WITH CHICAGO STATESaturday afternoon's meeting will be the first time MSU and Chicago State have met head to head. The Cougars come into the matchup with an 0-5 record on the season, losing their last two games by a total of 82 points against Western Illinois and No. 19 DePaul. Senior forward Layne Murphy has recorded three double-doubles this season, averaging over 11 points and 10 rebounds a game.
