MOREHEAD, Ky.— Morehead State women's basketball will begin a three-game homestead on Wednesday as the Eagles will host Austin Peay at Johnson Arena for a 6 p.m. ET tip-off.
 
MSU (7-12, 1-4) recently snapped a five-game losing streak with a 85-77 win over Eastern Illinois, and the Eagles have put themselves in a position to climb the ladder of the OVC standings. Junior forward 
Shay Steele has led the Eagles in scoring in three of the last five games and is second in scoring for MSU with 14.3 points per game. In four of the Eagles' seven wins, Steele has been the leading scorer.
 
Austin Peay (5-13, 3-2) started OVC play winning three straight against Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, and Tennessee Tech but has recently lost back-to-back games against Tennessee State and Belmont. At the Dunn Center, the Lady Govs are 5-2, but on the road they are winless at 0-10. Senior guard Tiasha Gray is the top scoring threat with 17.8 points per game. In a losing effort at Belmont, she recorded season highs in points with 38 and assists with 11.

MCKEE's DOUBLE-DIGIT SCORING STREAK CONTINUESSophomore forward 
Eriel McKee has scored in double digits in every game and has accumulated a team-high four double-doubles. Dating back to her freshman season, she has scored in double digits for 23 straight games, beginning on Feb. 21, 2015 versus EKU. McKee is averaging a team leading 15.2 points per game
 
OVC WEEKLY HONORS FOR CROCKETTFreshman guard 
Miranda Crockett has caught the attention of the OVC, as she has been awarded the OVC Freshman of the Week accolade on five different occasions. Crockett leads the team in assists (82) and minutes played (564), is second in rebounding (131) and fourth in points per game (12.8).
 
PERCHED ATOP THE OVC AS A TEAMThe Eagles lead the OVC in 11 separate team stat categories, including assists, blocks, blocked shots per game, defensive rebounds per game, offensive rebounds per game, rebounds, rebounds per game, scoring offense, steals, steals per game, and turnovers forced.
 
GET THAT OUT OF HEREThe Eagles rank first in the nation with 130 blocks and first in blocked shots per game with 6.8. Junior forward
 Shay Steele is 32nd in the nation and first in the OVC with 39 blocks. MSU tied a school record and an OVC record with 16 blocks in the win over Mount St. Joseph on Nov. 23.
 
RUN-AND-GUNMSU is scoring at a rapid rate, averaging 82.9 points per game, ranking sixth in the nation and first in the OVC in scoring offense.  In four of 19 games, MSU has reached the century scoring mark and are 3-1 when they do so.
 
WORKING FOR WINDEXThe Eagles rank second in the country with 896 rebounds and fourth in rebounds per game with 47.1. MSU is also averaging 17.0 offensive rebounds per game, making them the ninth best offensive rebounding team in the nation.
 
SECOND CHANCE OPPORTUNITIESWith a high rebounding average, 36 percent of the Eagles' rebounds have led to second-chance opportunities. As a result, MSU scores an average of 17.2 points per game as second-chance points.
 
PAINT THE INSIDE BLUE AND GOLD On average, the Eagles are scoring 38.4 points per game in the paint, and their opponents are averaging 34.4 points per game.
 
TAKE THE BALL AWAYMSU ranks ninth nationally with 207 steals and is 18th in steals per game with 10.9. Sophomore forward 
Eriel McKee is fifth in the nation with 57 steals and ranks 13th with 3.0 steals per game.
 
TEAMMATES FINDING TEAMMATESAs a team MSU has dished out 314 assists, and they rank 16th in the country. 
Miranda Crockett leads the way with 84, ranking her 52th in the nation and fifth in the OVC.
 
PUT THE OPPONENTS ON THEIR HEELSWith 21.1 forced turnovers per game, the Eagles rank 14th in the nation. In 11 of 19 contests, the Eagles have forced 20 or more turnovers.
