MOREHEAD, Ky.—
Morehead State baseball absorbed a 5-3 loss to Ohio University on Tuesday night at Allen Field.

The Eagles (26-20) have lost back-to-back games after winning five straight. The Bobcats (20-23) have won three straight contests.

"We didn't do enough offensively early tonight, and that's a credit to them," said Head Coach Mike McGuire. "We walked several times but couldn't get a hit to drive a run in when we needed it."

Freshman designated hitter Trevor Snyder gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead in the third inning with a double down the left field line, scoring sophomore first baseman Tyler Niemann and junior right fielder Will Schneider.

Junior lefthanded pitcher Curtis Wilson started the game for Morehead State and threw four scoreless innings until OU right fielder Spencer Ibarra nailed a one-out solo homer in the fifth. Ibarra went deep again in the seventh when the visitors took the lead for good with three runs.

MSU had jumped on top 3-2 in the sixth when junior centerfielder Ryan Kent doubled home freshman catcher Hunter Fain.

The Eagles were held to four hits. Freshman shortstop Reid Leonard led off the game with a single, extending his hitting streak to 13 games. Schneider moved his hitting streak to 10 games.

Eddie Fitzpatrick tossed three innings, surrendering only one hit, to grab the win.

Wednesday's single game at Miami (Ohio) has been cancelled. The Eagles will travel to Eastern Illinois for a three-game set this weekend.
