HOOVER, Ala. --
Riding the momentum of its 13-8 come-from-behind win at No. 27 Mississippi State Tuesday, the Morehead State Baseball team gets back to action this weekend at the Hoover (Ala.) Classic.

The games will be contested at the Hoover Met Stadium just south of Birmingham, site of the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

The Eagles (3-2) will face Alabama State (1-3) on Friday and Saturday and Iowa (2-2) on Sunday. ASU and Iowa open the five-game event on Friday at 1 p.m. ET, and the Eagles and Hornets play at 5 p.m. Saturday's and Sunday's games are set for 1 p.m. All three games can be heard live on the Eagle Sports Network on MSUEagles.com.

"I expect this to be another tough weekend of great college baseball," said head coach Mike McGuire. "Alabama State went undefeated in the SWAC last year and was an NCAA regional team, and Iowa is another power-five opponent who is traditionally strong in the BIG 10."

Morehead State mounted an incredible 10-run, ninth-inning rally to knock off the SEC power Bulldogs Tuesday night, behind three hits and five RBI by sophomore shortstop Reid Leonard. Sophomore DH Trevor Snyder had a two-run double to bring MSU to within 8-7, and junior first baseman Tyler Niemann singled home two for a lead the Eagles held on to.

Morehead State has never faced either ASU or Iowa.

The Eagles will go with junior LHP Aaron Leasher to start game one, senior LHP Curtis Wilson for Saturday, and senior RHP Luke Humphreys in the finale. Leasher allowed just four hits and struck out six in his 2017 debut last weekend vs. Jacksonville. Wilson fanned a career-best seven vs. Jacksonville, and Humphreys was part of a one-hitter against Jackson State.

Sophomore leftfielder Niko Hulsizer leads the offense with a .421 average, while Leonard is close behind at .381.

Following this weekend's action, the Eagles will have a mid-week matchup at nationally-ranked Louisville next Wednesday.
