Cecil and Reynolds Secure First-Ever Beach Volleyball Flight Victory

RESULTS

TAVARES, Fla. –
On the final day of the Stetson Beach Invitational, Morehead State beach volleyball fell to Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) and Jacksonville State.

"Today was a mix of one step back, two steps forward," said head coach Jaime Gordon.

The flight pairing of sophomore Alyssa Cecil and freshman Karlee Reynolds collected the program's first-ever set victory. The pair defeated Rachel Perucki and Mackenzie Rombach of Jacksonville State from the fifth flight in match two.

"We got some really good play out of Karlee and Alyssa winning at the 6's and 5's today," added Gordon. "They did a nice job of settling down and executing at critical times. Their shot selection and execution was much improved from yesterday."

"As a team, we did not pick up where we left off yesterday afternoon against LMU this morning," observed Gordon. "They did a solid job of executing and we were not able to put enough pressure on their defenses.

"The team regrouped and put forward a competitive performance against JSU," Gordon continued. "Now moving forward, we have quite a bit to work on as we prepare for Jacksonville on Monday."

The Eagles return to action on Monday with a dual match at Jacksonville. Times for the matches have yet to be announced.
