CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Morehead State softball team found itself on the losing end of two games against Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay during a doubleheader on Friday afternoon at Holt Field.

Morehead State fell 10-2 in five innings in game one before suffering a 10-0 setback in game two against the Governors.

Freshman Peyton Rose and Princess Valencia batted home runs in the game for Morehead State. Both came in the third inning as Rose tripled to score junior Lindsay Anderson before she came home herself with a single by Valencia.

The triple was the first of Rose's career while the RBI was her sixth of the 2019 season. For Valencia, it was her fifth RBI of her career.

In the circle for MSU, freshman pitcher Lakyn Largent (0-19) suffered the setback in game one while sophomore Alexis Strother (0-5) was credited with the loss.

The Eagles fall to 2-35 overall and 0-16 in OVC play. Austin Peay moves to 27-18 overall and 12-4 against league competition.
