MOREHEAD, Ky.
– Freshman guard Ariel Kirkwood recorded her fourth-career double-double as the Morehead State Women's Basketball team suffered a 68-47 setback against Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky on Thursday evening at Johnson Arena.

Kirkwood led the Eagles with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the team struggled to find a rhythm offensively, shooting a 2019-20 OVC season low 17-of-61 (.279) from the field.

The reigning OVC Freshman of the Week also blocked five shots in the game to raise her season total to 66 - which ranks second in the OVC.

The Colonels were paced by guard Terri Goodlett's 17 points while forward Bria Bass came off the bench to add 15 of her own.

Eastern Kentucky moves its record to 10-14 overall and 4-9 in league play with the win.

The loss for Morehead State, which is its first to EKU in the team's last three matchups, drops its record to 9-16 overall and 5-8 in OVC play.

Next up, Morehead State travel to Murray State for a Saturday afternoon tipoff against the Racers.
