MOREHEAD, Ky. -- By earning her 14th career Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week accolade, Morehead State's
Bridget Bessler has established a program record for receiving in-season conference honors.
Bessler has now earned the Setter of the Week in back-to-back weeks, three in the last four weeks, and four times overall this year. Her honor is the 155th career Athlete of the Week bestowed upon the program since the awards programs began.
Bessler, who leads the OVC in total assists and assists per set, handed out 35+ assists in all three matches last week as the Eagles went 2-1. She posted two double-doubles as well to run her double-double total to 12 this season.
She had a week-high 43 assists Friday in a three-set win at Southern Indiana and missed another double-double by just one dig. In Saturday's win Bessler had 38 assists and 15 digs.
With 3,884 career assists, Bessler ranks third in program history.
