Miller and Reinhard Earn Bid to AVCA Beach Volleyball Fall Pairs Championship

BRACKET

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- For the first time in history, the NCAA is having a Fall Beach Volleyball Pairs Championship, and Morehead State has earned a bid as Eagle duo Trinity Miller and Anya Reinhard were one of 64 pairs selected to take part.

The event runs Friday through Sunday in Huntsville, Ala. Pairs are split into 16 pools of four pairs each, with the top three pairs from each pool advancing into a championship bracket and the fourth moving into the 49-64 bracket. Miller and Reinhard will play three matches on Friday to determine their bracket placement.

Miller and Reinhard are in pool 15, along with pairs from UC Davis, Louisiana State and Central Arkansas. They are seeded 47th.

The pair begin their action Friday at 10 a.m. ET against UC Davis' Finley Rollins and Colleen McGuire, seeded 18th. They continue at 1 p.m. against LSU's Kylie DeBerg and Ellie Shank, who are seeded 15th. At 4 p.m. they'll face Ryenne Gepford and Julia Orevec, seeded 50th, from UCA. Florida State's Paige Kalkoff and Raelyn White are the No. 1 seed in the event.

Legislation passed in May 2022 by the NCAA allowing multiple-day events for college women's beach volleyball players during the fall season paved the way for the championships.

Miller (Fairfield, Ohio) and Reinhard (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) are both getting ready for their fourth collegiate seasons for the Eagles. Miller had an 11-12 record last spring, while Reihard was 9-14. The pair had a a 5-9 record playing together. In 2021, Miller was 10-4 and Reinhard finished 9-5.
