MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State volleyball heads to West Tennessee this week to face the OVC first-place Skyhawks at UT Martin. The early weekend series begins with a 7 p.m. ET match Thursday and concludes with a Friday matinee at 3 p.m.
The Skyhawks are a game ahead of Tennessee Tech in the standings at 12-2 but Morehead State could take a jump forward with some wins this week. The Eagles are in third place currently at 9-5 as both programs have secured OVC Tournament spots already.
The Eagles will then be at home to conclude the regular season next weekend versus Southeast Missouri.

- Senior setter
Bridget Bessler established the program record for in-season OVC wards this week when she earned her 14th career OVC Setter of the Week accolade. She passed up former teammate Olivia Lohmeier who earned 13 Offensive Player of the Week honors.
- Morehead State leads the conference in kills (13.1) and assists (12.0) per set. The Eagles have ranked in the OVC's top two in kills and assists for the past five seasons.
- UT Martin and MSU are the top two teams in the conference in hitting percentage.
- Middle blocker
Irene Wogenstahl ranks fourth in the league in hitting percentage at .296. She has managed to hit better than .330 in nine matches this year and has hit higher than .500 in five of those outings. She owns a career attack efficiency of .282.
- Libero
Peighton Isley recorded 85 digs in her last five matches, averaging 5.0 digs per set.
- Outside hitter
Abby Hulsman is approaching 900 career kills with 862. Hulsman also played in her 100th and 101st career matches last weekend at Southern Indiana.
