MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Despite some solid scores on both guns, Morehead State rifle saw Nebraska escape with a win over the Eagles Saturday in the first match of the spring portion of the schedule.
Nebraska outscored MSU 4719-4669.
Grace Weber had a highlight day for the Eagles, setting a personal best in Air Rifle. Weber fired a 595 with 46 center shots. Both
Andrew Morris and
Adrianna Beard turned in 591 totals. Beard's total was a personal-best tying day.
Hayden Bell had a 585, while
Bryce Ward (584),
Cassidy Wilson (583),
Holly Freeman (583) all had 580 or better.
Ward led the Smallbore lineup with a 582. Morris shot a 578, while Wilson (574),
Elizabeth Plecity (573) and Freeman (571) rounded out the counters. Bell tied his prone personal high with a 196.
Another highlight of the day was the Smallbore individual range record being set by Cecelia Ossi of Nebraska with a 592 and 43 centers.
Morehead State is in action next Saturday at VMI.
