MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Football travels to the Lone Star State to face first-time opponent Tarleton State this Saturday. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
According to the record book, this will mark Morehead State's first-ever game played against a team from Texas and first-ever game played in the nation's largest state in the lower 48.
The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with
WIVY-96.3 FM serving as flagship station. Jason Blanton and Tom Lewis will be on duty for the radio call. Fans can also hear it on MSUEagles.com,
WGOH-100.9 FM/1370 AM and
WMST-106.9 FM/1150 AM. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
Tarleton State, which plays in the United Athletic Conference, is 4-3 overall and 1-2 in its league games this season. MSU doctorate graduate Dr. James Hurley is the President at Tarleton State.
GAME NOTES
• Morehead State has seven players with hometowns in Texas, including starting QB
Carter Cravens (Cypress) and starting offensive lineman
Xavier Orta (Dallas).
• Morehead State scored 17 fourth-quarter points, including an 80-yard game-tying touchdown in the final two minutes as the Eagles walked off (literally) with a 24-21 win at Valparaiso last week. Kicker
Nathan Hazlett missed a 39-yard FG as time expired but a roughing the kicker penalty gave the Eagles an untimed down, and he booted a game-winning 28-yard FG. Hazlett, who is on the Fred Mitchell Award watch list for the nation's best small-college kicker, is 5-of-5 on FGs this fall.

Carter Cravens has earned two Pioneer League Offensive Player of the Week nods this year. He has passed for 687 yards (343.5/game) and four TDs in the last two games and rushed for an additional two TDs.
• Receiver
Ryan Upp is the PFL's leading receiver. His 91.7 yards per game and 550 total yards rank first in the league and 10th and 13th, respectively, in all of FCS football. He had a career-high 184 yards at Valparaiso and two TDs. Upp has 24 catches for 130.6 yards per game just in the last three games. Uppalso has six TDs this season, which ranks fourth in the FCS level.
• Morehead State's offense ranks first in the PFL in converting red-zone chances to points. The Eagles' 94 percent efficiency ranks eighth among all FCS teams.
• Quarterback
Carter Cravens leads the PFL and ranks fifth in the nation (FCS) in total offense. Cravens piles up 308.8 yards on his own each game, also leading MSU in rushing yards.
• Morehead State has only lost two fumbles in its six games. The Eagles rank 10th in FCS in fewest fumbles lost. The offense has only lost one fumble technically. The other was on a kickoff return.
• Linebacker
Jahleel Holmes paces Morehead State's defense. His last four games have produced nine, nine, nine and 11 tackles, and he leads MSU with 4.5 tackles for loss.
• MSU's five turnovers gained against Dayton was the most in a game in three seasons. Cornerback
Kaleb Lyons had two interceptions, and three of the five takeaways occurred either in the end zone or inside the five-yard line on Dayton possessions.
• Linebacker
Isaac Armstrong nearly tied the MSU record for tackles for loss in a game (4) with 3.5 at Valparaiso.
