MOREHEAD, KY --The Morehead State volleyball team totaled 53 kills on the way to a 3-0 win (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) against the SIU-Edwardsville Cougars Thursday at home at Johnson Arena.
The victory moved the Eagles' record to 15-11 overall and 8-6 in OVC action.
The Eagles offense was paced by M.E. Hargan, who finished with 14 kills on the day. Irene Wogenstahl added 12 and Amelia Nott chipped in with 10 as part of balanced Morehead State attack. MSU got 18 digs from Peighton Isley to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Eagles won the first point and never trailed to secure the first set 25-17. Morehead State opened up its biggest lead, eight points, to finish off the set, totaling 21 kills along the way.
SET 2 | Morehead State won the second set 25-18 to quickly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Eagles scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Morehead State opened up as much as a nine point lead at 21-12 before finishing off the set, totaling 15 kills in the process. The Eagles hit .345 over the course of the set.
SET 3 | Morehead State then capped the three-set sweep with a victory in set number three. The Eagles led from the opening point on in the set to secure a 25-20 victory. Morehead State opened up as much as a seven point lead at 23-16 before closing out the set, collecting 17 kills in the process.
Morehead State is back in action Friday at noon as the Eagles look for a season sweep of SIUE.Â
