MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A banner year for the Morehead State Soccer team, and in particular midfielder
Kate Larbes, just added another prestigious accolade to the list. Larbes has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team.
A second-team selection, Larbes is just the fourth soccer student-athlete in program history to earn All-Region by the USC (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America).
Larbes had a fantastic season, culminating with the Eagles winning their first OVC Tournament since 2013 and her being crowned tournament Most Valuable Player. Larbes also earned First-Team All-OVC.
Larbes led MSU with five goals and also had a pair of assists. Twice she registered two goals in one match - against Detroit and versus SIUE in the regular-season finale. She also scored the Eagles' lone (and match-winning) goal against Southeast Missouri in the OVC Tournament semifinals.
She played more than 3,800 career minutes and scored seven career goals.
The three other All-Region players in program history included Guileana Lopez and Erin Adams in 2010 and Brittany Kiracofe in 2011.
