MOREHEAD, Ky. -- As spring practice gets underway, Morehead State Football has added three full-time members to the coaching staff. The newest Eagle mentors are Brady Foltz (offensive line), Rodman Noel (linebackers) and Ryan Watts (wide receivers and special teams coordinator).

Foltz comes to MSU and the Pioneer Football League from Texas-Permian Basin, where he served as assistant coach and offensive line coach from 2020-22. Prior to UTPB, Foltz was the offensive line and tight ends graduate assistant at Northeastern State (Okla.).

He started his coaching foray at Butler Community College (Kan.), where he led the tight ends and halfbacks for two seasons (2016 and 2017), guiding three all-conference players while helping the team win 15 games.

As a student-athlete, Foltz was a four-year letterman and offensive lineman at Texas Christian, where he started his junior and senior seasons and was a two-time All-Big 12 selection. His team won the 2014 Big 12 title. As a senior, Foltz and the Horned Frogs advanced as high as No. 7 nationally and finished with an 11-2 record. They won a triple overtime thriller over Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl, 47-41, rallying from a 31-0 halftime deficit, which tied for the largest comeback in FBS bowl history.

The Horned Frogs finished 12-1 and No. 3 in the nation his junior season, winning the Peach Bowl.  Foltz helped lead a prolific TCU offense that finished second in the nation in scoring (46.5 points per game) and tied for fifth in total offense (533.0 yards per game). Foltz's TCU teams also won the Poinsettia Bowl in 2011 and the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in 2012.

Foltz earned his bachelor's degree from TCU in 2016.

A former North Carolina State standout linebacker, Noel comes to the Eagles following two years as a graduate assistant at Southwest Baptist (Mo.). There he coached Coleton Smith, who led the nation (DII) in tackles with 162 (30 more than the second place tackler) in 2021 and was named All-American.

Noel played at NC State from 2011-14, where he led the Wolfpack in tackles as a senior. He helped his team win two bowl games as well, winning the Belk Bowl in 2011 and the St. Petersburg Bowl in 2014.

Noel had a stint as a professional player with the Cleveland Browns before moving into the coaching world. He served as linebackers and special teams coordinator at Tracy and Alonzo Mourning High School in Miami during the 2020 season.

Originally from the Boston, Mass., area, Noel has a bachelor's degree from NC State, graduating in 2016. He is on his way to earning his Master's Degree at Southwest Baptist in 2023.

Watts most recently served as wide receivers coach and director of football operations at Missouri Western since the 2017 season. Prior to that, he served one season as an offensive assistant at Abilene Christian.

Watts began his coaching venture as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Stephen F. Austin. During the 2011-15 seasons, he also headed the filming department for the Lumberjack program.

He graduated from SFA with his bachelor's degree in 2014. Watts and his wife, Katie, have one daughter - Quinn.
