MOREHEAD, Ky. – For the first time in his collegiate career,
Nolan Piazza has been tabbed to the All-OVC team.
Piazza led the team and finished fourth in the conference in scoring average, posting a 72.2 on the season. The sophomore had five top-10 finishes this season, with three of those finishes coming in the top-5. Piazza also added a career low round this season, firing a third round 68 at the Daytona Beach Spring Invitational.
The Niagara Falls native also claimed two golfer of the week honors; first in October for his top-5 finish at the Xavier Invitational and then in February after a strong showing at the Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate. Piazza also claimed two match play victories at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic earlier this season.
Piazza is unable to participate in the OVC Tournament taking place this week due to injury, but has plans to return to the links to lead the Eagles in the fall.
