MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kentucky's lone PGA tour event saw Eagles both past and present, as two former members of the Morehead State men's golf team and Head Coach Matthew Martin caddied while a former Eagle played in Nicholasville's Barbasol Championship.

Hosted at Keene Trace Golf Club, the Barbasol Championship is the sole PGA Tour event played in the Bluegrass State each year. Alongside Martin, former Eagles Joe Muschong and Lee Chaney were caddies in the event, while Hall of Famer Josh Teater competed.

Teater played golf at MSU from 1997-2000, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. He was a member of the fifth OVC Championship team in 1999, making the All-Tournament team and finishing fifth individually. Teater earned a PGA Tour card in 2010, and has qualified for three of the four major championships in his career. He finished at even par across his two rounds at the Barbasol.

Chaney, the son of legendary coach Dr. Rex Chaney, was a standout golfer at Morehead State from 2004-09. He finished second at an OVC Championship during his career, while posting two top-five finishes as a senior and a win at the 2004 Butler Fall Invitational as a freshman. Chaney is now a professional caddie on the PGA Tour, and caddied for Ryan Brehm this past weekend.

Muschong, a Lexington native, finished up his career at Morehead State in 2022 with an OVC Championship and an appearance in the NCAA's Columbus Regional – just the second Eagle to appear in a regional. He was recently named a member of the OVC Men's Golf 75 th Anniversary Team, and caddied for the Hall of Famer Teater at the Barbasol.

Martin, head coach of the Eagle program since 2014-15, caddied for Englishman John Parry.
