BOX SCORE
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's soccer team had a tough task Thursday evening as the Eagles faced Big 10 foe Indiana on the road. Despite battling, the Eagles surrendered a couple of scoring chances to the Hoosiers, and the hosts finished with a 3-0 win over MSU.
The Eagles slipped to 1-2-0 in 2023 and now look ahead to a home match against Wright State next Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Erin Gibbs was tagged with the three goals allowed but made a season-high eight saves, just one short of her career high she set twice last season.
MSU's offense was held in check with four shots, compared to 21 for the home team. But, of the Eagles' four attempts, three were on target and one hit the crossbar. MSU did, however, generate a 4-3 edge on corner kicks.
The Hoosiers generated a 1-0 lead 9:33 into the match. They added their second tally 44 seconds after halftime and closed the scoring with a penalty kick tally at 68:09.
Michelle Hochstadt had half of the Eagles' shot chances with four.
