MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Soccer recorded its first shutout of the 2023 season Wednesday night at home. Unfortunately, the Eagles could not capitalize on their scoring chances as well as the Eagles and Wright State battled to a 0-0 tie after 90 minutes.
The Eagles settled at 1-2-1, while Wright State is the same after four matches.
The home team had a 57-43 percent advantage in possession, but the Raiders took five more shots, leading in that category 14-9.
Erin Fite took a team-high three shots for the Eagles.
Despite trailing in shots, the Eagles only surrendered two of the attempts on goal as goalkeeper
Erin Gibbs played the full 90 and saved both. Defender
Anna Lohrer also played the full time.
The Eagles continue the 2023 campaign on Sunday, traveling to former Ohio Valley Conference foe Austin Peay for a 2 p.m. ET match.
