CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO --The Morehead State volleyball team lost to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in four sets (23-25, 25-19, 19-25, 23-25) Friday on the road at Houck Field House.
The loss dropped Morehead State's record to 7-6 overall and 0-1 in OVC action.
The Eagles were led by a double-double from M.E. Hargan, who registered 10 kills and 15 digs on the day. Hollan Everett also added 16 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Peighton Isley chipped in for with 26 digs to go with seven blocks from Irene Wogenstahl. Brenna Bommer nearly posted a triple-double, finishing with 35 assists, 11 digs, and seven kills.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Eagles rallied from a seven-point 14-7 deficit, but Southeast Missouri State hung on to win the first set 25-23.
SET 2 | Morehead State responded to pick up a 25-19 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to secure the victory. Morehead State opened up as much as a six point lead at 24-18 before finishing off the set, collecting 15 kills along the way. The Morehead State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Southeast Missouri State responded to win set number three, putting Morehead State in a two sets to one hole. The Eagles dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead before losing the set 25-19.
SET 4 | Morehead State then lost the fourth set 25-23 to finish off the match. Southeast Missouri State grabbed the advantage for good at 24-23 and Morehead State wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up three times before the Redhawks took over in the second half of the stanza.
Morehead State looks to go for a season series split on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
