MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Following his performance in week one, Morehead State quarterback
Carter Cravens has earned 2023's first Pioneer League Offensive Player of the Week accolade.
The Cypress, Texas redshirt sophomore accounted for 318 total offensive yards in the Eagles' 37-35Â win over West Virginia State Thursday. He was 21-of-32 for 236 passing yards and three touchdowns.Â
Cravens also rushed for a team-high 82 yards on just 11 carries, including an 18-yard scamper on second and 17 with less than two minutes remaining that allowed the Eagles to kneel out the game and seal the season-opening win.
Cravens completed his trio of scores to three different receivers.
Cravens' honors is the 22nd all-time PFL Offensive Player of the Week since the Eagles began league play in 2001.
