MOREHEAD, Ky. --
  • Coming off one of the biggest upsets in recent history in a 29-20 win at Drake (to end the Bulldogs' FCS best 17-game conference winning streak), MSU will look to end another long streak and stay in the hunt for a PFL title when it faces San Diego for Senior Day at 1 p.m. ET Saturday.

MSU has never defeated the Toreros (0-16 all-time), but after some lopsided decisions over the year, the last three matchups have been much closer. The total margin USD has won against MSU in the last 3 battles has been just 18 points.

Morehead State  will honor its largest senior class in recent history with 23. Those being honored for their final home game are: Chance Harris, Nate Boehm, Caleb Tillman, Trevon Kleint, James Louis, Benjamin Haywood III, Hayden Peterson, Grant Goodman, Jackson Benjamin, Trevion Green, Kenneth Shaffner, VJ Anthony, Kairo Reid, Kip Warren, Brady McKnight, Jaxsen Spears, James Wayne, Logan Wong, Noah Benza, Zach Fish, Xavier Orta, Landon Wright and Paul O'Brien.

The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with WIVY-96.3 FM serving as flagship station. Chuck Mraz, Jason Blanton and Tom Lewis provide the radio call. Fans can also hear it on MSUEagles.com, WGOH-100.9 FM/1370 AM and WMST-106.9 FM/1150 AM. The game will stream live on ESPN+ with Jared Stacy and Mark Ledford teaming up as the voices this game.

GAME NOTES
•  With a win, MSU would secure the program's first eight-win season since going 8-4 in 2005.

•  A win would also secure a perfect 6-0 home record for MSU. The last perfect home record was all the way back in 1949 (5-0).

• Morehead State's 29-20 win at Drake last week was the first-ever MSU win at Drake Stadium.

• Morehead State's defense has allowed 7 or fewer points to five different opponents this fall. That occurrence has not happened for a MSU team since 1949. In MSU's seven wins this season, opponents average just 8.8 points per game.

• In the Eagles' win at Drake, MSU held possession for all but 1:49 in the final quarter. MSU's 13 points scored in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth quarter were both the highest single-quarter point totals all season.

•  MSU ranks third in all of FCS in passing defense and pass efficiency defense and sixth in the nation in red zone defense.

•  MSU was NOT whistled for a single penalty at Drake. It has been 51 games since that occurred - the last being at Murray State on Sept. 21, 2019.

• Morehead State ranks second in the nation in turnover margin. The Eagles are +13 on takeaways/giveaways.

•  Morehead State's defense has 31 interceptions in the last two seasons. This fall, MSU now ranks eighth in the nation in the FCS in interceptions with 14.

•  Wide receiver Nate Garnett ranks second currently among all FCS receivers in yards per catch at 22.3.

•  Nate Garnett is the ONLY FCS wide receiver in the nation with TWO long receptions ranked in the top 10 among longest catches in all of FCS this season. He has two 88-yard touchdown catches, one at Dayton and one at Davidson.

•  Running back James Louis broke out for 111 rushing yards at Drake, the Eagles' first 100-yard rushing game this fall. It was the first 100-yard ground gainer since Louis had 107 versus Davidson last year. Louis has 1,470 career rushing yards and 14 career touchdowns on the ground.

•  Ryan Upp's 1,370 career receiving yards just passed Keith Mescher (1974-76) and onto the top 10 list for MSU history.

• Safety Matthew McClelland needs just four tackles to become the first since Cooper Krezek in 2021 to record 100 tackles in a season.
