MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball opened the weekend with a hard-fought 3-2 setback at Tennessee Tech Friday. The Eagles collected wins at Nos. 3 and 4 and also the extra exhibition pairing.
MSU slipped to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the OVC race.
At No. 3,
M.E. Hargan and
Peighton Isley made up a duo for the first time this season and rallied to win 16-21, 21-15, 19-17. Hargan now owns a team-best eight wins this spring.
On court four,
Brenna Bommer and
Lily-Kate Carver persevered for a three-set win. After taking set one 21-19, they fell 21-11 in the second but responded with a 15-5 triumph in the finale tot ake the match.
In the extra pair,
Maycie Welborn and
Courtney Fitzgerald also won a three-set thriller, 21-17, 9-21, 15-13.
Amelia Nott and
Landyn Snowden also were involved in a three-set decision at No. 5, finally falling 15-21, 21-19, 12-15.
