MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Baseball's Ryley Preece has already broken a pair of school records this season, and holds the opportunity to continue etching his name in the MSU & OVC record books throughout the remainder of the 2024 season.

Earlier this year, Preece became the program's all-time leader in home runs, blasting his 50th career homer vs. Eastern Kentucky. His total is now at 55, ranking fifth in OVC history.

This past weekend vs. Western Illinois, Preece scored his 215th career run, breaking former Eagle Reid Leonard's record of 214 and moving into third in OVC history in the statistic.

Currently, the senior from Paintsville, Ky., ranks second in program history in extra-base hits (102), total bases (450), and stolen bases (50), while ranking third in walks (142) T-5th in RBI (155) and 10th in hits (228).

Preece is the only player in program history to post a 20 HR/20 SB season, doing so in 2023 with 21 HR & 21 SB on his way to being named OVC Player of the Year.

If Preece were to repeat, he would be the first player in MSU history to win the award twice. He has four career OVC Player of the Week awards, and was First Team All-OVC in 2023 & All-Freshman in 2021.
