RESULTS (EIU | UTM)
MARTIN, Tenn. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball opened the OVC Weekend No. 2 with a 4-1 victory over Eastern Illinois before falling by the same score to the host Skyhawks of UT Martin.
MSU swept the regular-season pair of matches versus EIU. The Eagles sit at 7-12 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
The No. 3 pair of
M.E. Hargan and
Peighton Isley won both their matches today. Hargan improved to a team-best 12-7 in the spring.
Against EIU, the Eagles started with a 1-0 cushion as the No. 5 pair of
Amelia Nott and
Courtney Fitzgerald won by forfeit.
Brenna Bommer and
Lily-Kate Carver then secured a three-set win (22-20, 19-21, 15-13) at No. 4. Isley and Hargan sealed the Eagles' victory with a 21-9, 21-15 triumph.
Sydney Wyman and
Bella Marita grabbed the Eagles' fourth point at No. 1 with a 21-19, 21-18 win.
The UTM match saw Hargan and Isley secure the lone point. They battled Addy Vaughn and Ryan Rednour to a three-set win, 21-19, 18-21, 15-13.Â
The Beach squad finishes the weekend and the OVC regular-season on Saturday, facing Lindenwood at 11 a.m. and Chattanooga at 3 p.m. ET.
