MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Another monster week has netted
Roman Kuntz another OVC Player of the Week award, his third weekly honor of the season, the conference announced Monday.
Kuntz homered in the first four games of MSU's five games last week, bringing his season total to 20. His 14 RBI on the week moved his total to 60. Both of those tallies are career highs, and Kuntz leads the OVC in those categories.
In Tuesday's win over Marshall, Kuntz blasted a three-run homer to put the game out of reach. On Wednesday, Kuntz helped MSU secure a season sweep of the Herd with a 3-4 day, finishing a double shy of the cycle with five RBI.
Across three games vs. Lindenwood, Kuntz was 5-13 with two home runs and two doubles while driving in seven runs. The senior from New Carlisle, Ind., crossed the plate nine times this week.
Kuntz is the only player in the OVC to be named Player of the Week multiple times this season. Morehead State has won six of the 10 Player of the Week honors this season, with
Colton Becker,
Logan Castleman, and
Ryley Preece being named OVC Player of the Week once each.
Morehead State is back in action Tuesday, opening a five game road trip at Ohio on Tuesday.
