MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -- The Morehead State men's golf team wrapped up its season with a solid performance this week, finishing in a tie for fifth place at the OVC Championship.
The tournament was played at the Fighting Joe Course on the RTJ Golf Trail.
The Eagles fired rounds of 310-291-300=901, tying with Lindenwood and Southern Indiana for fifth, narrowly missing the top four to advance to Wednesday's match play event.
Logan Liles led MSU individually, finishing T-10th after shooting 77-70-73=210. Liles had 38 pars and six birdies at the tournament.
Nolan Piazza finished T-25th with a 227 total (81-68-78). Piazza's second round 68 was the lowest round of the tournament by an Eagle.
Brody Webb finished T-27th (78-76-74=228), while
Logan McCormick (77-78-75=230) finished T-29 and
Blake Evans (78-77-78=233) finished T-36th.
Matt Martin's squad will regroup this summer and continue working ahead of the 2024-25 season. This season, MSU picked up a pair of wins, finishing second at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic and third at the Joe Feaganes Invitational.
