MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State baseball team was heavily featured on the 2024 All-OVC teams, with seven Eagles named All-Conference for their efforts throughout the season, the league announced Tuesday.

MSU had an OVC high four players named First Team All-OVC, one player named Second Team All-OVC, and two players named All-Freshman.

FIRST TEAM
Colton Becker, Nick Gooden, Roman Kuntz, and Ryley Preece were named First Team All-OVC.

Becker, who has posted career highs in nearly every offensive category this season, was Second Team All-OVC in 2023, with 2024 being his first appearance on the First Team. Becker ranks second in the conference in hits with 81, with an OVC leading 22 doubles and 28 stolen bases. Becker is currently the program's all-time leader in stolen bases.

Nick Gooden led the OVC in hits with 83, ranking 24th nationally. 2024 marks his third time being named All-OVC after being named First Team in 2022 and Second Team in 2023. Gooden has posted career bests in hits, home runs (10), doubles (18), and RBI (58).

Roman Kuntz rewrote the OVC record book this season on his way to being named First Team All-OVC and OVC Player of the Year. Kuntz was named Second Team All-OVC in 2022 and First Team All-OVC in 2023, both as a DH. He was named to First Team All-OVC at first base this season after setting the OVC single-season home run (31) and RBI (92) records in 55 games.

Ryley Preece was named All-Freshman in 2021 and both First Team All-OVC and OVC Player of the Year in 2023, and was one of three outfielders named First Team All-OVC in 2024. Preece has broken numerous school and OVC records this season. He is MSU's all-time leader in home runs, runs scored, walks, extra base hits and total bases. He set the OVC career record for runs scored earlier this season.

SECOND TEAM
Luke Helton was the lone Eagle named Second Team All-OVC after another solid season on the mound. Helton holds an 8-2 record with career highs in wins, innings pitched (91.1) and strikeouts (88).

He won OVC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time in his career after the regular season's final week. Currently, Helton ranks second in program history in wins, while being the program's all-time leader in games started. He needs three innings pitched in the OVC Tournament to become the program's all-time leader.

ALL-FRESHMAN
Redshirt Freshmen Davis Germann and Hayden Robbins were both named to the OVC's All-Freshman team.

Germann hit .320 on the season, with an identical average in conference play. The Canadian-born outfielder battled injuries throughout the season, but posted a pair of home runs, 11 RBI and 10 doubles throughout the year. In a game against SEMO earlier this season, Germann tied the school record for walks in a game, drawing five bases on balls vs. the Redhawks.

Hayden Robbins was in contention for Freshman of the Year all season long, and was named All-Freshman in his first season of action at the collegiate level. Robbins ranks fifth on the team in hits with 66, and posted 11 home runs, 11 stolen bases and 53 RBI in 2024. In conference play, the Richmond, Ky., native batted .375 with six home runs and 28 RBI.

Morehead State has had seven or more players named All-OVC in back-to-back seasons. The Eagles look to capture a fifth OVC Tournament Championship this week in Marion, Ill.
