MOREHEAD, KY --
The Morehead State volleyball team defeated the Duquesne Dukes in four sets (25-17, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23) Friday at home at Johnson Arena in the first match of the Comfort Inn-Vitatational.

The third win in a row for MSU boosted the Eagles' overall record to 3-4 on the season. MSU now leads the overall series with the Dukes 3-2, with Friday's match marking the first-ever against Duquesne on the Eagles' home floor.

The Eagles' offense was paced by graduate student Irene Wogenstahl, who finished with a career-high 16 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .452, and by junior M.E. Hargan, who had 11. Defensively, the home team had three players reach double figures in digs, including senior libero Peighton Isley's 18, 12 from sophomore setter Sydney Sennett, and 10 more from sophomore Courtney Fitzgerald.

Sennett's assist total was the second highest in her career, behind a 28-helper match last fall against Southern Indiana. She also recorded her second career double-double with her dig stat.

Emerson Schrom led the visiting team with a 14-kill effort.
