MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's longest tenured current employee in the athletic department, Jamey Carver, has earned a promotion to Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance. Carver has served as assistant director of athletics and compliance coordinator since 2022.

In addition to his role in leading compliance efforts for the department, Carver has sport oversight and handles a wide plethora of internal operations duties.

Carver, in his second stint in the athletic department at Morehead State, began his career here in 2001. Carver served as the men's basketball athletic trainer from 2001-08 and served as football trainer from 2008-11.

Carver was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics and Director of Sports Medicine in 2011-12 before pursuing other opportunities. He spent two years as a surgical assistant at Cave Run Surgical Specialists in Morehead. Carver also participated in outreach programs for local high schools during those two years before returning to campus.

In his role as compliance director, Carver worked closely with now retired Deputy Director of Athletics Richard Fletcher to ensure compliance and eligibility for all of MSU's student-athletes.

A former graduate assistant at Kentucky, Carver earned his master's degree in kinesiology from UK in 2001. He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Northwestern State in Louisiana in 1998.

Carver is married to the former Brandy Morris, a long-time educator and former principal at Rowan County Senior High School who is also a former soccer student-athlete at MSU. The couple has three daughters, Mia, Ava and Lana.
