Women's Hoops' Sepp Named OVC Newcomer of the Week

Morehead, Ky.-- Morehead State's Marie Sepp has been named the 2025-26 season's first Ohio Valley Conference women's basketball Newcomer of the Week for her play last week in the opening week of the new campaign.

Sepp, a 5-5 senior from Tallinn, Estonia had a sensational debut to her Morehead State career in the Eagle's season opener at Kentucky last Monday. Playing all 40 minutes, Sepp poured in 21 points to lead all scorers. She shot 8-16 from the floor, including hitting two of her four three-point attempts. She also hit three of her four free throw attempts. Sepp also the lead Eagles with eight rebounds and dished out nine assists and just missing a triple-double.

Sepp was hampered by early foul trouble Friday at Bellarmine and was limited to just 16 minutes of play. She scored 12 points on 3-7 shooting from the floor and hit five of her six free throw attempts.

Sepp and the Eagles hit the road Thursday as they travel to Athens, Ohio to take on Ohio University. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET. The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Network with Tom Lewis on the call. The game can also be seen on ESPN+.
