MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Men's Basketball will return from the Thanksgiving holiday set to face IU Indy in the Hoosier State on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET in the on-campus gym of the Jaguars, The Jungle.

With the all-time series deadlocked at 3-3, the last time the teams met, it was in the Corteva Fieldhouse at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, where MSU won 80-52 on Dec. 21, 2021. MSU is 0-2 all-tine in The Jungle.
Under new head coach Ben Howlett (an architect behind D2 West Liberty [W.Va] leading the nation in scoring multiple years), the Jags are off to a 2-6 start but have averaged more than 90 points per game.

• The game could turn into a scorefest. IU Indy is allowing nearly 100 points per game while MSU averages nearly 80.
• Morehead State ranks second in the OVC in fast break points scored, averaging 16.0 a game when it has the upperhand in numbers on the break.
• Head Coach
Jonathan Mattox reached 200 overall wins for his career as a staff member or a head coach (at Morehead State and Murray State) with the Eagles' win over Kentucky Christian.
• Morehead State has a 112-61 overall record since 2020-21, or 65 percent success rate. That figure ranks No. 1 for winning percentage in the Ohio Valley Conference in that span. The program has had nine 20-win seasons since 2008-09.
• Morehead State broke an 0-12 streak of losing when the opponent scores 80 or more last weekend vs. Lousiana-Monroe. The Eagles edged the Warhawks 83-80. The last time an opponent scored 80 and still lost to MSU was Dec. 3, 2023 when the Eagles beat Chattanooga 87-80.

Davion Cunningham won the OVC's Player and Newcomer of the Week honors this past week. He averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game at the ETSU MTE event.

Jon Carroll has posted three doubles in the first seven games, with the latest being a 10-point, 13 rebound effort in an 83-80 win over ULM last Saturday. The transfer from North Central Missouri had 18 doubles last year in the JUCO ranks. Carroll ranks 30th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (3.7).
• Morehead State has shot better than 60 percent in two games this year, against Midway (Ky.) and KCU. The .658 clip against KCU marked the third highest single-game accuracy since 2011-12.

George Marshall, Jr. has now made 45 of his last 49 attempts from the stripe. He is a career 83 percent free throw shooter.
