Morehead, Ky. – The Morehead State women's basketball team hits the road to face off with Southern Indiana Saturday in Liberty Arena in Evansville, Indiana, as the Ohio Valley Conference schedule begins to ramp up. The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Network with Tom Lewis and Jason Blanton on the call. It can also be seen on ESPN+. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
Morehead State opened conference play Tuesday night with a 76-63 home loss to Little Rock in Johnson Arena. The Eagles had four players finish in double-figure scoring led by
Kate Dike who posted her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Landon Forbes tossed in 13 points.
Laura Toffali and
Marie Sepp finished with 12 points apiece.

The Eagles battled a cold shooting night from three-point range, shooting just 12% (3-25) from behind the arc. Overall MSU hit 20 of their 51 field goal attempts for a 39% accuracy.

Southern Indiana opened Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday night with a 57-40 home win over Little Rock in Liberty Arena. Guard Ali Saunders led the Screaming Eagles with 15 points. Channah Gannon added 11 points and Sophia Loden chipped in 10. USI forced 18 Little Rock turnovers and shot 13-15 from the free throw line.

- Dike leads MSU averaging 13.7 points (10th in OVC) and 7.2 rebounds per game (9th in OVC). Dike's double-double Tuesday was her third of the season and the second in the last three games. In the Eagles' last five games, Dike has averaged 18.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per outing.
- Dike leads Morehead State hitting 36% (12-33) from three-point range. Last season she did not attempt a single trey.
- Three Eagles are perfect from the charity stripe so far this season: Landon Forbes (9-9), Ekstrom (6-6) and Josefine Enander (4-4)
- Laura Toffali is second on the club averaging 12.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game (19th in OVC). The Italian ranks second in the OVC averaging 2.8 steals per game. She has tallied 29 thefts this season. She had back-to-back games (Nov. 22 vs. USC-Upstate and Nov. 26 vs Eastern Kentucky) where she racked up five thefts.
- Toffali posted her first double-double of the season on November 26th against Eastern Kentucky, posting a career-high 24 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
- Marie Sepp leads the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 5.8 assists per game. That ranks 20th in the country in Division I. The Eagles rank 3rd in the OVC averaging 13.6 assists per game.
- Sepp posted the Eagles' first triple-double in a decade in Morehead State's loss to Murray State on December 3. The senior from Estonia posted 12 points, 10 rebounds and set a new career-high with 13 assists.

SCOUTING THE SCREAMING EAGLES
- Southern Indiana ranks second in the OVC, scoring an average of 74.7 points per game. They are the league's stingiest defense, giving up only 49.2 points per game. Their +25.4 points margin tops the OVC. The Screaming Eagles are good on the glass with an OVC-best +9.1 rebound margin per game.
- USI leads the OVC averaging 12.3 steals per game and their +9.3 turnover margin is also tops in the league. Â
- The Screaming Eagles are led by Sophia Loden who is averaging 14.3 points per game (7th in the OVC). She ranks second in the OVC averaging 9.1 rebounds per game.
- Point guard Ali Saunders ranks 8th in the OVC averaging 14.1 points per game. She ranks second in the conference, handing out 4.9 assists per game.
- USI features the double-headed monster inside with sisters Chloe and Channah Gannon. Junior Chloe has started all nine games for USI this season and is averaging 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Freshman Channah has only played in USI's last two games and has made a big splash: Sunday against Middle Tennessee, she dropped in 16 points in her collegiate debut. Thursday in USI conference opener she scored 11.
