Morehead, Ky. – The Morehead State Men's golf team swings back into action at the Memphis Intercollegiate: Spirited by Old Dominick Monday and Tuesday in Cordova, Tenn.

Hosted by Memphis, the tournament will be contested over the 7337-yard, par 72 Colonial Country Club South Course.  "We have the privilege to play on a PGA Tour-caliber golf course," said Morehead State head coach Matthew Martin. "The course hosted a PGA Tour event for several years and will be a fantastic challenge."

The Colonial Country Club South course hosted what is now known as the Federal Express St. Jude Classic for 30 years. Greats of the game such as Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino won tournaments over the track. The last year the club hosted the event was 1988, when Louisville native Jodie Mudd claimed the title.

Morehead State will take on 14 other teams over the two-day event: Austin Peay, Belmont, Central Arkansas, Dayton, Illinois, Illinois State, Lindenwood, host Memphis, Missouri State, Samford, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee State, UT Martin and Western Kentucky make up the field.

"This tournament has several OVC schools playing so we will be able to see where we stand with our conference competition," said Martin. "The field is very strong, especially with Illinois from the Big Ten."

Illinois is currently ranked 10th in the nation in NCAA Division I.

The Eagles are coming off a fifth-place finish (out of 16 teams) at the ECU Intercollegiate two weeks ago in Greenville, N.C. Freshman Seamus Bogan, playing as an individual, finished tied for fifth place. He fired rounds of 74-72-71 for a 217 (+1) total.

"I'm generally pleased with our progress through the Spring. I thought our guys fought through some adversity and got a good finish at ECU," said Martin.

Martin will send out Logan McCormick, Remy Stalcup, Seamus Bogan, Gavin Augenstein and Logan Liles to compete for the Eagles.

The Memphis Intercollegiate: Spirited by Old Dominick is the fourth tournament of seven in the spring schedule which culminates with the Ohio Valley Conference Championship April 20-23 over the Dalhousie Golf Club course in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
