Baseball Kicks off Tennessee Swing at Austin Peay Tuesday

Morehead, Ky.--
The Morehead State baseball team kicks off a four-game swing through Tennessee Tuesday as the Eagles visit long-time rival Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.

 First pitch at Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on ESPN+.

The Eagles return to Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday to kick off a three game series at UT Martin.

  • Catcher Hunter Thomas leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 13 home runs (T-24th nationally) and 37 runs batted in. He also tops the conference with 90 total bases. His .659 slugging percentage ranks second in the OVC.
  • JJ Dutton is riding a 12-game hit streak heading into Tuesday's game. He's hit safely in 23 of the last 25 games, raising his batting average 60 points. In the last 10 games, he's gone 14-40 (.350) with five doubles, a triple and has driven in four runs.
  • Freshman Caden Sheridan had his nine-game hit streak snapped on Sunday against Little Rock. He did collect two sacrifice flies in the game and has hit safely in nine of the last 11 games. In the last 10 games he went 12-37 (.324) with two home runs, five doubles and eight RBI.
  • Alex Kean had a big day at the plate Sunday against Little Rock, getting three hits in four at-bats. He slugged two home runs, giving him nine on the season, which ties him for third in the OVC.  
  • Davis Germann has hit safely in the last six games, going 10-25 (.400) in that span.
