FINAL RESULTS

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State Women's Golf is once again Ohio Valley Conference Champions!

The Eagles led the three-day event, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala., from start to finish as MSU claimed the team title by a staggering 29 strokes over second-place Little Rock. MSU also won the title at the RTJ in 2023 before placing second to LR last year in Tunica, Miss.

Battling windy conditions all three days, Morehead State raced out a 13-shot lead after the opening round Sunday, increased it to +18 after 36 holes and put the icing on the trophy by further widening its lead to +29 for the final 54-hole scorecard. MSU's 29-shot victory was the third-largest winning margin for any team at an OVC Championship in league history.

"I'm very proud of our ladies. They work extremely hard," said head coach Stephanie Barker. "They work on their days off. They put in extra time, they come early, they leave late. They do mental training, they do mobility training, they do strength training and a lot of that they do on top of what we require and. I'm just so proud of of their hard work and efforts and it's really exciting and now our hard work has paid off and we're going on to (NCAA) regionals."

The title marks the program's third in history, joining 2023 and 2011. MSU earns the league's automatic berth to an NCAA regional, which will be held May 5-7 at six locations across the country, including nearby Lexington, Ky. The NCAA selection show takes place on Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. ET.

MSU ended with the top three individual golfers in the field. Included in MSU's win was junior Tuva Marie Isebakke claiming medalist honors, the fourth Eagle in program history to win the individual title at the conference championship. She carded a three-day total of 74-69-79--222 and won by two strokes over teammate Tavia Burgess. The Eagle freshman turned in a 71-76-77--224 for her fifth top-10 scorecard and third top-5 effort her first collegiate season.

For her efforts, Isebakke was named the 2024-25 OVC Player of the Year. She is the sixth all-time Eagle player to earn the OVC's highest honor. Barker was also voted as the OVC Coach of the Year, adding to her two previous Coach of the Year awards in 2023 and 2011.

Junior Amelia Rae Greenlee completed the trifecta of Eagles at the top of the leaderboard, scoring a consistent 74-75-76--225. Isebakke, Burgess and Greenlee made up three-fifths of the 2025 OVC All-Tournament Team.

In her final OVC Championship, senior Hanna Montgomery also scored a top-10 finish at 72-80-80--232. Sophomore Isabella Wiley had a tough final round but still concluded in the top 20 at No. 17 with a 75-77-90--242.

Morehead State's team total finished at 291-297-312--900. The Eagles were the only team to break 300 for any round and accomplished that twice on the first two days.

"Coming into this week, I felt like our team was trending in the right direction, and when I look at our season, we have a very tough schedule. That helps us prepare for the OVC's at a venue like the Shoals where you you always get swirling wind," Barker added. "You have to really commit to your shots or things can not go well and you know, today, par was rough. I want to say it was more like a 75 or 76. But we've played in snow squalls, we've played in rain, we've played in high winds, and I think that really prepared us. It's golf - any given week anything can happen. So we were not the favorites, but I felt like our best is just as good as anyone else's best, and it's good to see our team trending in the right direction and in to come here and have probably one or two of our best rounds of this season during the championship."
