Huntington, W.Va. -- Marshall broke out the bats and scored in bunches as the Herd beat Morehead State 10-0 Tuesday night at Jack Cook Field in Huntington, W.Va.
Morehead State (12-26/ 2-13 OVC) could manage only 3 hits against Marshall pitching.
Marshall (19-22/ 6-2 SBC) put up five runs in the bottom of the second on six hits, punctuated by Marshall shortstop Maika Niu's two-out, two RBI double that one-hopped the wall in right center.
The Herd added three more in the third, punctuated by center fielder Can Harthan's two-run triple down the right field line. Another pair in the fourth put Marshall up 10-0.

Morehead State will host Marshall Wednesday at Allen Field at Prefontaine Park in the return match of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on ESPN+.
