SCHEDULE
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Six home games, including against perennial Pioneer League front runners Butler and Davidson, highlight the 2025 schedule for the Morehead State football program.
The Eagles will also make treks to FCS scholarship foes Illinois State and former OVC and PFL rival Austin Peay in year two for head coach
Jason Woodman. All official kickoff times, ticket information and other promotions will be announced later.
Family Weekend is set for Sept. 20 when MSU hosts Kentucky Christian, and Homecoming weekend is Oct. 16-18, spotlighted by the Eagles hosting Marist on Oct. 18.
The MSU crew will get the season kick-started on Saturday, Aug. 30 with a visit from Allen (S.C.) for the first-ever meeting between the schools in football. The Yellow Jackets are members of the Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the same conference as Central State, who MSU opened with last fall. Allen was 2-8 in 2024.
The Eagles will travel to Illinois State on Sept. The Eagles and Redbirds last met in 2019. ISU is coming off a 10-4 campaign in which it advanced to the second round of the FCS playoffs.
A visit to Austin Peay is on Sept. 13. MSU last met the Governors in 2021 and actually lead the all-time series 26-21. APSU finished 4-8 in 2024.
Kentucky Christian provides the opposition for the final non-conference tilt on Sept. 20. The Knights played at MSU last year, with the Eagles winning 48-7.
Morehead State's PFL home games include Dayton (Oct. 4), Marist (Oct. 18), Davidson (Nov. 1) and Butler (Nov. 8). The Eagles finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in Woodman's first season, including wins at Dayton, over previous PFL champion St. Thomas and eventual 2024 PFL title holder Drake.
