MOREHEAD, Ky. -- With a little more than a month to the opening kickoff of the 2025 Morehead State football season, a trio of returning Eagles have garnered preseason recognition as part of the Pioneer Football League all-conference team.
Quarterback
Carter Cravens, wide receiver
Ryan Upp and linebacker
Luke Bauer are on the team. In addition, the Eagles are picked 6th in the preseason coaches poll but just two points out of fourth place. For the first time since 2019, San Diego is the league's official preseason favorite.
Despite battling injuries that forced him to miss two full games, Cravens still eld the Eagles with 1,310 passing yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. The Cypress, Texas, native. He enters the 2025 season with 4,013 career passing yards with 24 touchdowns.
Upp, an All-PFL pick last fall, led the team with 42 catches. He turned that into 573 yards along with five touchdowns. From Leesburg, Va., Upp has 1,417 career yards in the aerial game, which already ranks 10th on the career list for the program.
Bauer, who hails from Akron, Ohio, racked up 50 total tackles in 2024 and led MSU with 12 tackles for loss. He also had 4.5 sacks and forced a fumble. In two seasons with the program, Bauer has 17 tackles for losses.
