MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State football will look to bounce back from a pair of tough road losses to nationally-ranked FCS teams this Saturday as the Eagles entertain Kentucky Christian at 6 p.m. ET on Family Weekend.

Fans can catch tons of activities on campus for Family Weekend, plus another great post-game fireworks show following the contest.

The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with WIVY-96.3 FM serving as flagship station. Jason Blanton and Tom Lewis provide the radio call. Fans can also hear it on MSUEagles.com, WGOH-100.9 FM/1370 AM and WMST-106.9 FM/1150 AM. The game will stream live on ESPN+ with Jared Stacy and Mark Ledford teaming up as the voices this game.

Morehead State looks to remain perfect all-time against nearby school Kentucky Christian. The Eagles are 6-0  in program history vs. KCU, with the series dating back to a 67-0 Eagle win on Sept. 1, 2011.

The Knights enter at 1-1, having dropped a high-scoring 42-35 affair at Taylor (Ind.) last weekend. They opened the year with a 58-0 win over South Carolina Central Christian at home, but that game did not end up counting for the schedule, and then the Knights defeated Brevard (N.C.) 42-21 on the road.

GAME NOTES
• Morehead State has dominated the series with KCU, averaging 53.5 points in the six wins versus the Knights. Last fall, MSU prevailed 48-7 over KCU on Sept. 7 as wide receiver Ryan Upp caught two touchdowns from QB Connor Genal. Current wide receiver Anthony Ice caught his first-ever Eagle TD from current QB David Parsons, also Parsons' first career touchdown pass. Morehead State's defense picked off four KCU passes.

• Morehead State is coming off back-to-back games at FCS top-25 ranked opponents, Illinois State and Austin Peay. It's the 13th consecutive season the program has faced at last one top-25 team and the first time since 2022 the Eagles squared off versus two straight nationally-ranked foes.

• Morehead State's defense was a force to be reckoned with last fall, under now second-year coordinator Wil Truelove. The Eagles allowed seven or fewer points to five different opponents. That occurrence had not happened for a MSU team since 1949. In MSU's seven wins last season, opponents averaged just 8.8 points per game.

• Morehead State utilized all four traveling quarterbacks at Austin Peay. Carter Cravens started and played the first series, while Bryce Patterson got the majority of the reps, passing for a team-high 80 yards. A bright spot came from David Parsons, who connected with wideout Riley Purcell on a 48-yard TD pass to thwart APSU's shutout bid. Parsons was 5-for-7 for 75 yards. Junior transfer Will Prichard saw action late as well.

•  Despite not getting any opportunities at Austin Peay, redshirt freshman defensive back Sidney Webb still ranks sixth among all FCS players in combined kick returns. He has 253 return yards so far, including an 83-yard kickoff return for a score against Allen (S.C.).

•  Ryan Upp now has 116 career receptions for 1,598 career yards. He ranks sixth in career receptions at MSU, passing former Eagle Jarin Higginbotham (2015-18) at APSU into sixth. Upp ranks 10th in career yards in program history, needing 86 to catch Toby Moeves (1998-01) in 9th and 100 more to catch Ralph DelSardo (2000-03) in 8th.

•  Ryan Upp ranks 14th among current FCS receivers in career yardage (1,598). He is one of just 16 current FCS receivers to record 1,500+ career yards. He trails only Dominic Kibby from Presbyterian for the PFL's active career yardage leader for wideouts. He ranks second in the PFL in total receptions (17) this season.

• Quarterback Carter Cravens has 4,383 career passing yards and 26 touchdowns. He's reached the end zone eight more times on the ground, including twice in the season opener. He is only 539 yards shy of Lawson Page's 4,922 career yards for ninth place in program history.

•  Morehead State's 195 rushing yards in the season opener was the most in head coach Jason Woodman's tenure at MSU and the most for the program since a 226-yard effort at Dayton (in the snow) on Nov. 12, 2022.

•  The Eagles are a perfect 5-for-5 in red-zone opportunities so far in 2025, scoring four touchdowns and a field goal. Only 14 other FCS teams have a 1.000 red-zone offensive efficiency.

•  Transfer linebacker John Purdy ranks first in the PFL in total tackles with 28. He only trails San Diego's Nate Fischer for the tackles-per-game lead in the PFL. Purdy averaged 9.3 stops in the first three games, including 11 at Austin Peay.

•  Cornerback Richard Sweeney III has 13 career pass break-ups in just 15 games, averaging nearly a pass defended per game.

•  The 2025 roster features nearly 75 new players to the program, including close to 50 true freshmen.

• A trio of returning Eagles garnered preseason recognition as part of the Pioneer Football League All-Conference team. Carter Cravens, Ryan Upp and Luke Bauer were honored on the team.
