Morehead, Ky.-- The Morehead State women's basketball team continues its home stand and kicks off the second half of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule Thursday when it hosts SIUE in Johnson Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET. The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Network (flagship WIVY 96.3 FM) with Tom Lewis and Wes Holland on the call. Morehead State ran their win streak to three games with a 52-48 victory over Eastern Illinois Saturday.
Laura Toffali led the Eagles with 22 points, hitting six of 11 from the floor and 10 of 12 from the free throw line.
Kate Dike added 12 points.
Marie Sepp led MSU with 10 rebounds and handed out five assists. The Eagles hit 18 of their 22 free throw attempts.

At 7-3 in conference play, Morehead State is tied with Lindenwood for third place in the OVC. MSU's record after the first ten conference games represents the best start to conference play since the 2018-19 squad posted an 8-2 mark. That team finished the season 24-11 and 13-5 in the OVC and made an appearance in the WNIT and knocked off Ohio State in the opening round. Southern Indiana and Western Illinois sit atop the conference standings at 8-2.

SIUE had four players finish in double figures and upended Tennessee Tech 67-63 Saturday in Edwardsville. Lauren Miller led the Cougars with 16 points. Syanne Mohamed notched a double double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. She also matched her career high with four blocked shots.

Kiyoko Proctor added 13 points and Macy Silvey chipped in 11. SIUE hit 52% (25-48) from the floor and 11-15 (73%) from the free throw line.

Morehead State beat SIUE 54-49 on January 3 in Edwardsville in the teams' first meeting this season.
Kate Dike dominated in the game, scoring 29 points and pulling down 10 rebounds and spearheaded MSU's 44-14 advantage in points in the paint.
Marie Sepp added 15 points, hitting seven of her 11 attempts from the floor. The Eagles hit 52% from the floor and took a season-low 11 three-point attempts in the game.

Lauren Miller led SIUE with 13 points. Kiyoko Proctor finished with 11 points. The Cougars forced 18 turnovers and committed 14 miscues. SIUE hit 14 of 16 from the free throw line.

- Marie Sepp leads the OVC with 102 assists. Her 4.9 assists per game rate ranks 44th in the country.
- Sepp ranks 17th in the OVC averaging 5.9 rebounds per game in conference games. She tied her career high with 10 rebounds last Thursday against Western Illinois.
- Sepp posted her first double last Thursday against Western Illinois with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She posted the first triple-double in a decade when she put up 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists against Murray State December 3.
- In their first 10 conference games, the Eagles posted a 5-1 record when Sepp scored in double figures. In the four games she did not post double-digit points, the Eagles went 2-2.
- There have been 23 triple-doubles posted this season in NCAA Division I women's basketball. TCU Olivia Miles has notched four, the only player with more than one. Other than Sepp's, MSU has a connection to another: former Eagle Kate Novik, now at DePaul, put up 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against UMass-Lowell on December 11.
- Violet McNece scored a career-high 18 points last Thursday against Western Illinois. She shot seven of nine from the floor and four of her six three-point shots. She ranks ninth in the OVC with 32 made three-pointers.
- Landon Forbes ranks 14th in the OVC with 32 assists (1.5 assists per game). In conference play, she ranks 11th in the league averaging 2.9 assists per game.

SIUE is mentored by Samantha Quigley Smith, who is in her fifth season in Edwardsville. She has a 43-99 record at SIUE.
