Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State travels to the Bluegrass to take on the 18th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats Tuesday in Kentucky Proud Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The game can be seen on the SEC+ Network.

Morehead State's season-opening series last weekend was moved to George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, Ky., due to Allen Field remaining unplayable after the winter storm that swept through the region.

After dropping the season-opener 7-4 to UMass Lowell Friday, Morehead State swept its doubleheader with the River Hawks Saturday. The Eagles took the first game 3-2, with redshirt junior Carter Owens getting the win out of the bullpen. Owens threw two innings, allowing just two hits and striking out one. Devin Costa got the save, allowing no hits and notching one strikeout in two innings pitched.

Game two on Saturday proved to be a wild affair and the Eagles overwhelmed the River Hawks 22-10. MSU starter Connor Davis, a freshman from Cincinnati, got the win. He threw four innings, scattering four hits and allowed one earned run.

Kentucky opened its 2026 campaign sweeping its three-game series at UNC Greensboro. The Wildcats won the opener Friday 13-2, then swept the doubleheader Saturday 11-3 and 10-6. UK batters notched five triples in the series and stole 23 bases out of 23 attempts.

Lexington native Carter Owens is scheduled to get the start for Morehead State. Morehead native Chase Alderman is scheduled to start for Kentucky.
