MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Fresh off an historic performance last weekend, Morehead State Rifle ventures to Martin, Tenn., this weekend to compete at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
The Smallbore relays will be contested Saturday with Air Rifle Sunday. The Eagles have finished second behind Murray State five straight years after winning the first and only title in 2020.
MSU joined the "4700" club last weekend in a win over North Georgia at home, setting the program record with a 4,702. It also set the program's Smallbore record.
This will mark the eighth time the championships have been shot in Martin. Morehead State's qualifying average right now sits at 4686.
Senior
Adrianna Beard leads MSU in total average this year at 1170.7, while fellow senior
Hayden Bell is second at 1170.2.
Trey Myers leads all Eagle marksmen with 579.9 in Smallbore.
The OVC Championships are the final tune up before the NCAA Qualifier on Feb. 21 at Kentucky.
