MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Beach Volleyball concluded its trip to South Carolina on a rainy day at College of Charleston. The Cougars topped the Eagles 4-1. The second match of the day was canceled due to inclement weather.
MSU is now 2-9 in 2026. Despite the loss, MSU's fate could have easily been turned into a win as two of the setbacks went the full three sets and the third set was decided by just two points in each of those pairs.
MSU's No. 2 pair of
M.E. Hargan and
Shea Hefner claimed the lone point, winning 21-11, 18-21, 15-7.
At No. 1,
Bella Marita and
Sarah Heath battled before falling 15-21, 21-19, 13-15. The No. 5 dual proved to the most tightly contested.
Addie Freed and
Riley McCloskey eventually fell 25-23, 16-21, 14-16. C of C claimed pairs three and four in straight sets.
MSU now prepares to open Ohio Valley Conference action when the Eagles meet up with the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech on Thursday. It's TTU home matches but due to construction at Tech, the matches will be played in Louisville, Tenn.
