RESULTS (MATCH 1 | MATCH 2)
LOUISVILLE, Tenn. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball saw a commanding performance against Tennessee Tech in both team's conference openers Thursday at the K2 Volleyball Facility. MSU defeated the Golden Eagles 4-1 and 5-0 to start OVC play 2-0.
MSU has now claimed seven in a row over Tennessee Tech.
MSU's lone setback came at No. 1 in the first match. At No. 2,
Sarah Heath and
Shea Hefner won both their matchups, first claiming a 21-12, 21-16 straight setter before also winning in two in the nightcap (21-11, 21-7).
At No. 3,
Amelia Nott and
Haylee DePonte outlasted their Golden Eagle counterparts 22-20, 21-10 before claiming a 21-14, 25-23 victory in the second match.
On court four,
Landyn Snowden and
Riley McCloskey won 21-14, 23-21 and then edged Tech 21-15, 21-11 in the last matchup. At No. 5,
Addie Freed and
Sydney Sennett rallied in match one to win 17-21, 21-17, 15-9. The duo then nearly accomplished the same score in match two, also winning in three (15-21, 21-14, 16-14.)
The number one duo of
M.E. Hargan and
Bella Marita responded from a match one setback to win their second battle 21-13, 18-21, 15-10.
MSU continues league action next weekend at OVC Weekend No. 1 at Chattanooga.
