RESULTS (LIN | CHATT)
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball closed the first Ohio Valley Conference weekend in tough fashion Saturday. The Eagles battled but ended up with a 4-1 setback to Lindenwood and a 5-0 decision on the wrong end of positive against host Chattanooga.
MSU returns home with a 3-3 league mark and a 5-12 overall ledger.
The Lindenwood match opened the day and featured the Eagles' lone victory of the day. At No. 2
Sarah Heath and
Shea Hefner triumphed over Abby Jacobs and Annalie McWhorter 21-17, 21-19. Over in the fourth pairing
Sydney Sennett and
Logan Smith mounted a furious marathon before finally falling 21-23, 21-16, 17-19.
The Mocs won five of the six matches against MSU in straight sets. Once again, Sennett and Smith made their opponents work much harder to earn a win. They ended up in a three-setter again before succumbing 13-21, 21-17, 5-15.
MSU continues its 2026 season this week at the Eastern Kentucky Tournament. The Eagles battle the host Colonels twice on Thursday at 12 and 2 p.m. ET before facing Ottawa (Kan.) and Liberty on Friday. MSU already owns a 4-1 win over Liberty on opening weekend this season.
