Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State Baseball returns to the road this week, heading into the western Carolina mountains. The Eagles will land in Asheville, North Carolina on Tuesday for a single game against UNC Asheville. First pitch at Greenwood Baseball Field is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET. The game is scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.

Morehead State goes into Asheville winners of its last three straight games after dropping the series opener to Butler this past weekend at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. The Eagles have won five of their last six games, including a 13-5 win last Tuesday at Louisville.

UNC Ashville will be wrapping a five-game home stand when they host the Eagles Tuesday. The Bulldogs are riding a five-game winning streak after a four-game sweep of Alabama A&M last weekend at Greenwood Baseball Field.

NOTABLE
- Morehead State pounded out 47 hits in its four-games against Butler. The Eagles have 165 hits on the season to-date; that ranks 4th in the Ohio Valley Conference. MSU's .297 team batting average also ranks 4th in the OVC.
- Morehead State's offense has been potent in the early going of the 2026 campaign: the Eagles lead the OVC statistically in home runs (25), total bases (283), slugging (.510), and are tied for the lead with Eastern Illinois with seven triples.
- Morehead State's 35 stolen bases rank second in the conference, behind UT Martin's 47 thefts.
- Infielder Aubrey Kearns is off to a fast start in his sophomore season with the Eagles. He leads Morehead State hitting .406 (t-7 in the OVC). His 1.151 OPS ranks eighth in the conference. His 26 hits are the second-most in the OVC through the weekend.
- Kearns finished the weekend against Butler with a bang: he lacked just a triple to hit for the cycle. He finished 3-5 at the plate with three RBI and scored two runs.
- Kearns has hit safely in 15 of Morehead State's 16 games this season.
- Freshman Kyle Krupp leads the OVC with three triples. His 10 stolen bases are the third-most in the OVC.
- Krupp had a nice week last week: he went 1-2 with three walks and three runs scored at Louisville last Tuesday. In the weekend series against Butler he finished 7-15 at the plate with four runs batted in, with a double, two triples and was 2-2 in stolen base attempts.
- Davis Germann just missed hitting for the cycle Sunday against Butler, going 3-4 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored. Like Kearns, he just needed a triple for the cycle Sunday.
- Griffin Olson had a solid weekend against Butler, going 6-13 at the plate with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored. He was 3-3 in stolen base attempts in the series.
- Newcomer Devin Costa has been effective out of the bullpen this season. He's appeared in six games, posting an 0-1 record with two saves and a 5.79 ERA. He's posted a 1.71 WHIP.
- Freshman Luke Hayes has had a solid start to his collegiate career, posting a 2-0 record with a save. In seven appearances, he's thrown 9.0 innings allowing just two hits and striking out 10 batters.
