Eagle Baseball Travels to Huntington to Take on Marshall in Wednesday Matinee

Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team gets back to action Wednesday as it travels east to Huntington, W.Va., to take on Marshall at Jack Cook Field. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET. The game is scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.
 
Morehead State is looking to rebound after being swept in its series last weekend against Lindenwood. Sunday's game was a wild one: the teams combined for 16 runs in the final three innings, with Lindenwood getting out of Morehead with an 18-13 win.
 
Marshall dropped two of three in its series at South Alabama in Mobile last weekend. Sunday, the Herd were held to two hits in a 4-1 loss to USA.

  • Jaden Correa is second on the team with 44 runs batted in, which ranks tied for fourth in the OVC. His 1.054 OPS is eighth-highest in the league.
  • Correa leads the team with 12 home runs, ranking fourth in the OVC.
  • Correa is hitting .529 (18-34) with RISP. With runners on, he's hitting .471 (33-70).
  • Wednesday's probable starter, Sam Smith will be making his first career collegiate start. His last outing was at home last Tuesday against Bellarmine. He pitched two innings, allowing one earned run and two hits. He walked one and struck out two Bellarmine batters.
  •  Reliever Devin Costa leads MSU with three saves this season. He's averaging 4.7 strikeouts per game. His 9.0 strikeouts to walks ration leads the team.
