MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's Beach Volleyball team knocked off Tennessee Tech Friday morning in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament before seeing its season end with a 3-0 loss to UT Martin in the evening.
The Eagles finished with a 10-19 record in 2026.
In the match with TTU, No. 6
Haylee DePonte and
Sydney Sennett started the shutout with a 21-17, 21-12 victory. The winning kept up at No 5 where
Logan Smith and
Amelia Nott battled into the third set and prevailed 21-10, 19-21, 18-16.
The victory was sealed when
Sarah Heath and
Shea Hefner secured a straight-set (21-12, 21-11) triumph on court two. At No. 3
Landyn Snowden and
Hollan Everett has all but won their match but it was halted one point short as they were ahead 20-12 after winning the opening set 21-11. The No. 1 duo of
M.E. Hargan and
Bella Marita were also well on their way to a win when the match was called.
The Eagles then had a hard-fought battle with the host Skyhawks before falling in three sets at No. 5 and straight sets at No. 1 and 4. DePonte and Sennett nearly came back from a 21-17 set-one deficit and won the second frame 21-8. They fell 16-14 in extra points in the finale.
Smith and Nott dropped a 21-16, 21-13 decision at No. 4 before Hargan and Marita succumbed 22-20, 21-16 to end the season just a few matches short of the OVC championship.
Hefner ended the year with a team-high 15 wins, while Hargan had 13.
