Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team wraps up the 2026 regular season as it hits the road to take on Tennessee Tech in the final three games of the season at Quillen Field at Bush Stadium in Cookeville, Tennessee. First pitch Thursday and Friday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The series finale Saturday is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. ET, first pitch. All three games are scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.

It will be the last conference series between the two long-time rivals: Tennessee Tech is joining the Southern Conference this summer and ending its membership in the OVC it has held since 1949.

Morehead State is coming off a sweep of Western Illinois last weekend in a trio of tight games. The Eagles piled up eight runs in first two innings in the series opener Friday night and held on for a 10 8 win. MSU starter Callum McGill ran his record to 2-0 throwing into the seventh inning allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out five.

Saturday, MSU got an outstanding pitching performance from sophomore Landon Waugh who scattered seven hits and notched a career high nine strikeouts in a 4-3 complete game win. JJ Dutton provided the game-winning hit with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth

Sunday, the Eagles once again built an early lead and hung on for the win. Morehead State led 6-0 through six innings and Western Illinois hung up three runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to draw even. The Eagles put up two in the bottom of the eighth and hung on for an 8-7 win. MSU starter Connor Davis provided a quality start throwing six shutout innings allowing five hits and striking out three WIU batters.

Tennessee Tech battled Lindenwood in a tight series in St. Charles, Missouri. After dropping the first two games 6-5 and 4-3, Tech salvaged the series finale 4-3 in another closely contested game.

Morehead State enters the final week of play tied with Lindenwood for fifth place in the conference standings. The Eagles and the Lions are three games behind Southeast Missouri and Eastern Illinois, who are tied for third place in the standings at 15-9. They are two games ahead of UT Martin who is alone in seventh at 10-14 in conference play.

Tennessee Tech, at 6-18 in conference play, is in last place in the standings but have not been eliminated from the OVC tournament (only the top eight teams in the standings advance to the postseason). Should the Golden Eagles sweep Morehead State and Southern Indiana and Western Illinois get swept, TTU would qualify for the eight seed.
